Once accepted into the program we recommend purchasing the required reading materials. Please read at your own pace at times when your mind is open and ready to receive information. These are wonderful easy reading texts which will be infinitely useful to you in your teachings. We will not be teaching the training from these texts, but may at times refer to them when appropriate.  It is suggested that you have read through them all during the course of the program so that we may address any questions that you may have or that may arise.

Pre-Requisites

This course is open to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of yoga specific to pregnant women. This includes midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, yoga instructors, other professionals and those who are new to the prenatal field and seeking a supportive space in which to begin their education.

However, because there is so much information to share specific to prenatal yoga, it will benefit you to have a minimum of two years of yoga experience, a foundation and understanding of basic yoga asana or a 200 hour adult yoga certification. We will focus on adaptations, modifications, and pregnancy specific asana and will not be able to spend time reviewing the anatomy of basic yoga. At the completion of this course those with a 200 hour level adult yoga certification can become certified prenatal yoga instructors through Yoga alliance. Those without 200hr level training will receive a certificate of completion from Full Circle which will provide you with eligibility for prenatal certification through Yoga Alliance once you have completed an adult 200 hour level training
